03 / THE POTENTIAL
Explore your destination’s potential.
Use the interactive planning pathway and five-year scenario model to prepare a more informed hosting conversation.
ILLUSTRATIVE ECONOMIC SCENARIO
Start with an annual allocation.
Adjust the proposed destination marketing organization (DMO) allocation to explore the original model’s five-year assumptions.
This is an illustrative multiplier model, not a demand forecast or verified return on investment. It does not calculate costs, net profit, tax receipts or displacement.
Five-year scenario
| Year | Assumed multiple | Modeled output |

How this model works
The original CodePen multiplies the same annual allocation by 8, 15, 24, 32 and 40 for years one through five. These are fixed assumptions, not growth calculated from bookings. This version preserves that arithmetic and shows the assumptions openly.
At $200,000 per year, modeled outputs are $1.6m, $3m, $4.8m, $6.4m and $8m. The five-year sum is $23.8m against $1m of assumed allocations. These outputs are not validated local economic activity or net returns.
The invitation’s $5.12m monthly scenario and the comparison’s property scenarios use different scopes and are not combined with this model. Build a destination-specific business case before making funding decisions.
